Never Winter Nights 2. Atari. PC. $30. Roll Playing Game (RPG). This game is centered around a force of evil called King of Shadows and a relic that is able to defeat him. There are three acts to the game to complete to beat the game. You have teammates and if you do something to offend once morals of beliefs then they are liable to leave you.  But if you respect everyone’s world view then you will gain influence with them and it will make you team stronger.  At the beginning of the game you start at a castle, witch is considered the stranglehold.  At first it looks crummy and worn out but as you go through the game you can complete missions to get employees to help fix you castle and start a village.  Some of these employees are miners, priests, architects, blacksmiths, farmers and more. You need to build quickly and in a tactical manor because there will be several mass battles at you village during the game and you don’t want to get stomped.  So to avoid this you have the ability to build armies and a defense.  Then you can upgrade their weapons and armor. If you take your focus off the army for too long they could become angry and become rebellious. Tim Weber

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Vivendi Games Publisher. Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox. $19.99 Released August 2005. Third Person Action. Marvel licensed product. The latest Hulk videogame is not your typical superhero game, because it actually fun to play. No more boring stealth mission, it all Hulk all the time. Hulk is unleashed in free roaming world with a completely destructible environment. The more Hulk smashes the more moves Hulk learns in the game. Also pro comic writes wrote the plot to the story. On the negative side basically only two large areas to roam around and the mission can be repetitive. Also the story was good but the voice acting was weak. Overall a great superhero action game. Adam Demers

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was Produced by Black Label Games and Developed by WXP. It is an XBox exclusive and cost $59.99 when it was first released. It is an action-adventure game with not much adventure. The Plot line follows the story line of the novel, not the movie. You play through the game as Frodo, but at certain times switch between strider and Gandalf. You don't level up, buy/find new weapons, or learn spells. Some Pros of this game would be that it follows the book fairly well and shows some things the movie didn't. Some Cons for this game would be that the game play is slow, the enemies are not very smart, and the fights are boring/repetitive. Overall this was not a good game. It did a decent job following the book but tried to hard to be a movie that the game was extremely slow. Jacob Swanson

Outlaw Golf. Hypnotix. Simon & Schuster. October 30, 2002. Gamecube, Xbox, PC. Take the game of Golf add in strippers, dominatrices, crooked doctors, and some good old caddy beatings and you get Outlaw Golf. This off-ball rendition of the game of golf gives you a new twist on this seemingly simple game. Outlaw Golf uses a confidence system to help you make your swings. Getting great shots boosts your confidence and helps you continue to make those great shots. A few bad swings and your confidence goes down making it harder to swing that club with acuracy. This posses no problem for you though, just hand in some coins and proceed to give you caddy the beating of his life to boost your confidence. The game play is simple as far as golf simulations go, controls are easy to use and this is a fun game to just sit down and shoot out a few rounds. On the other side, the game has a limit of three courses and only ten characters to unlock. Each character has his own little animations but those quickly get repedative as they have a very limited number to go through. Andrew Schulte

Medieval II: Total War is a turn based strategy game that features real time battles. The game takes place in the age of chivalry with knights going on quests and crusades, Italian city-states went to war with each other and kings went to war on their neighbors for power. You campaign over several centuries from England to Egypt to Portugal to Poland. You might even take a trip to the Americas and war against the Aztecs. The graphics in the game are amazing enough for historians to use in documentary movies. Medieval II improves on previous games with lighting, environments and weather effects. Animations are more fluid and single units are more individualistic in appearance. To throw in a new twist on the series they have added religion to the scheme of things, where the pope may tell a king to wage war because he excommunicated a player. Sounds are still great and the interface is still less then exciting. If you are a fan of the Medieval time period and like strategy games this game should keep you drooling. Austin Kimler

You can play a single match up, practice mode, multiplayer, or compete in various tournaments like the World Cup, Six Nations, or Tri Nations showdowns. The Graphics are fairly good. The controls are semi-okay but could use some improvement. Sound is okay but sometimes the crowd sounds get too annoying. Options for players is extended with over 60 teams to choose from and 1500 key players. Overall, it's an okay game. Stephanie Thorndyke

The Punisher videogame, created by THQ for the Playstation 2, PC, and Xbox is currently priced at about 20 dollars, but was originally released with a price tag of around 50 dollars. The Punisher is a basic third-person shooter. In The Punisher you are Frank Castle and you are trying to remove all crime from the streets of New York but along the way you have to interrogate enemies to find out the information you need. There are a lot of games that you have to interrogate enemies in, but The Punisher is especially inventive with their Special Interrogation, and Special Kill situations inside the game. The Punisher game is fun, and has very easy to learn controls, also, the dark humor in it really adds to the creation of the storyline. Unfortunately it is a very short game and is too brutal and bloody for some audiences. Jay Gaskell

2006 FIFA World Cup for the XBOX 360 is an exciting and detailed recreation of the world’s most popular sport.  It is available on the PS2, PSP, XBOX, XBOX 360, PC, GameCube, and DS.  The game released at $59.99 for XBOX 360.  It has solid graphics and gameplay.  The controls are simply and easy to learn.  FIFA World Cup has completely captured every team and player.   The tournament is fulfilling and fun to play.  The difficulty is not too bad but it can be raised to an impossibly difficult level.  The game does a great job of really making you excited for each goal you score, because of the well done cut scenes of the player celebrating and because of how hard it can be to just score once.  2006 FIFA World Cup is a great soccer/football game.  Adam Kremer

Supreme Commander, abbreviated as SupCom, is a real-time strategy computer game designed by Chris Taylor and developed by his company, Gas Powered Games. The game is considered to be the spiritual successor to Taylor's 1997 game, Total Annihilation. First announced in the August 2005 edition of PC Gamer magazine, the game was released on February 16, 2007, in Europe and February 20, 2007, in North America. An expansion was announced on June 28 of the same year. Supreme Commander centres around the 'Armoured Command Unit', or ACU. These mech suits are designed to be transported through quantum gateways across the galaxy and contain all the materials and blueprints necessary to create a 37th century army from a planet's native resources in hours. All standard units except Commanders and later-summoned Support Commanders are entirely robotic in nature, and do not require a local pilot. Brent Roeder

Company of Heros. THQ. PC. $49.99. Real time strategy. September 11, 2006. Follows Able Company and Fox Company Paratroopers from the storming of Normandy to the defeat of the German 7th Army as Polish, Canadian, and US troops closed the Falaise Pocket. Fighting will take players from open roads and farming communities to the dangerous hedgerows of Hill 192 and tight city quarters of Cherbourg and St. Lo. Campaign missions are prefaced by excellent briefings that give a tiny history lesson and explain the situation using animatics and maps of France. Some striking in-engine cutscenes serve as bookends to most scenarios. The occasional mid-mission cut adds in extra detail. While usually unimportant to actual gameplay, they serve as exciting and rewarding intermissions mid-action. Great graphics and sound!!!!/Cons: but due to the great performance one will need a high quality(high end) computer to experience the full quality of the game. This is overall a great game of strategy and reality. Its even good for a world war 2 buff. One of the good things on this game are the campain mode that they have for the single player mode. The campain consists of tutorials and then will lead to much difficult tasks that are much more amusing. This means it is not necessarry to go online and play with others, but this also does not mean the multi player is bad its good, but still campain mode kicks ass. (By the way I've never played this game.) Keigo Nishida

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. This game was released on June 1st, 2004 by Starbreeze and Tigon Studios, published by Vivendi Universal Games. The game was released for the original Xbox and PC. Technically, it was one of the first games that used normal mapping to make environments more realistic. The game was an unexpected hit, because games based on movies do not typically fare well. The story and graphics really surprised everyone. The game is a prequel to the movies and shows how the main character, Riddick, escapes from prison and gains his eyeshine ability. The game mixes stealth and gunplay game styles. Ammo is limited and requires the player to be creative with objects such as crowbars and wrenches. Overall the game is a very enjoyable experience; however, some people had small complaints with getting lost in the environments and the graphics are less than exceptable by todays standards. Luckily, the game is being remade for the Xbox 360 and PS3 under the subtitle Assalt on Dark Athena. Tyler Owen

The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King briliently put you into the action from the start. With a good hack and slash the first level is easy as pie.  The graphi rendering from cut sceen to play was exseptional. Tieing in the charicters voices from the movie to make the game as close to the movie as possible, and that added more depth to a great hack and slash. Alex Cook
